Award-winning botanical artist Kristin Jakob explores how careful observation becomes creative practice. Through artwork, stories, and demonstrations, she'll share how drawing from life deepens both artistic skill and appreciation for the natural world. An afternoon studio workshop offers participants the chance to practice observational drawing with individual coaching using natural specimens. All materials will be provided.

About the Series
What does creativity look like over a lifetime?
The Creative Practice Series brings together Mill Valley Milley Award recipients from across the arts to explore how they make their work. Through conversations, demonstrations, stories, and/or hands-on experiences, each artist offers a personal window into the creative processes that have shaped a lifetime of artistic practice.
Spanning music, visual art, dance, illustration, psychology, literature, and botanical art, the series celebrates the many ways creativity takes form while revealing the shared habits of creative practice: curiosity, observation, experimentation, craftsmanship, and a lifelong commitment to learning.
